The End of the Year

I wish you peace. Enjoying my end of year. Thinking back on the challenges and successes. There was enough for all beginning with the Tidal Wave and ending with Katrina. Natural disasters ran amuk. Some said it was God getting revenge. Taking out Holy penance on us all. We have been wasting our gifts. Publicly and privately. Well that's not my way. I've had my knee worked on in the beginning of the year and upgraded the image by the end. It's time to step up to the opportunities that come to each of us. That is my resolution. This year I'll be a better me.

The end of the Transit Strike.

As I sit here after another full day of work I realize that this latest strike was more about ego than anything else. Neither the MTA or the TWU was able to put what was good for the public before their own egos. That is a shame. There were 7 million people put to yet another extremely hard episode. I'm sure they thought it was a good idea at the time; but someone has to give up what is best for them sooner or later. When did we all become so self-important that we can't even consider what is best for those that we are supposed to serve?

Thanksgiving in the Dominican Republic! Posted by Picasa

This is me on my way out for a big dinner. Posted by Picasa

Welcome to NYspeaks. This is the initial entry in what I mean to be a place for New Yorkers to express themselves about New York. A lofty goal yes, but doable. There is little information available about what is important to young New Yorkers. I don't mean to say that I know what that is, but that you do. This is a participatory site. You will create what it is that you want to see and hear about. With little guidance from me you will post your pictures of ball games, parties and events. You will write about what bothers you about an MTA strike or the arrests at the latest Critical Mass bike ride.
